However, note there are people on this list saying a crucial difference
between R&R CD and recovery partition exists: that if former give you
only a choice of blowing away the whole hard drive and returning the
drive to the real factory state, i.e. the state with one FAT windows
partition(converted to NTFS on first boot) and one R&R partition. All
your linux partitions will be lost. Yet the R&R partition gives you the
extra option of installing windows into the first partition of the disk,
which will likely to preserve the linux partitions for your aside from
bootloader shenanigans. I did not have a chance to try this yet, but
that may be something to consider.
