I do have similar problems on 2.6.19. In my case its not strictly the
second suspend resume cycle that hangs the machine but it almost
certainly happens at some time -- always during suspend resume. This
is on an X40. There definitely haven't been similar problems on 2.6.17
and I don't remember seeing it on 2.6.18, however, I didn't run 2.6.18
very extensively, so I might just have missed it by chance.

Note, there is no suspend2 patch involved but I'm using tp_smapi. The
problem looks somewhat similar to the ancient EC hang issues as the
system still responds to external USB devices but not to most of the
keyboard presses. However, the major difference to the well known EC
hangs is that the system still responds to ctrl-alt-del or the power
button although the actual reboot or shut down doesn't succeed.
Instead, the system hangs early in the shut down process and has to be
hard reset.
