[ltp] Activating Built in Ev-Do (verizon) in linux?

I activated mine (in the US) originally under Windows and now just use
it under Linux. It works OK, though I'm the one from Thinkwiki who
sometimes needs the crazy steps to get it powered on under Linux if it
somehow gets into the disabled state. I don't know if there are any
issues with getting it originally activated under Linux -- it sure
didn't seem like much other than giving some codes off the connect
application to Verizon and waiting a couple days. But it's true that
every time the Windows connect tool connects, it briefly says it's
updating the modem or something like that. It's pretty vague -- I'm
not sure if it actually does anything of significance.
Thanks,
Aaron
