I was able to recover using http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/do=
cument.do?lndocid=3DMIGR-54483
It creates a recovery diskette that recreates the MBR , in my case I was =
ablt to get XP back, now I need to resolve the Blue ThinkVantage button ,=
=20when pressed at boot up time it gets me into the BIOS but not the Resc=
ue and Recovery options.
As for OpenSUSE I will update the M$S boot to include an SUSE option.=20
Thanks

Hello Gerard
If you look at my post "Need a crash course on T60 boot loaders, SVP" you=
=20will see that I am asking
a question close to yours. Newer Thinkpads appear to have "special" MBR -=
=20where special means out of the
ordinary.
IMO, you have two choices:
- use your recovery disks and re install Windows (you did make recovery d=
isks, didn't you?). This will
reinstall you MBR.
- re install openSUSE (hint, do a full install!!!) and pay particular att=
ention to the # boot loader # selection
you make. Play with the different choices.
