Rumor has it that using VMware and raw disks (a real Windows
partition, not a Linux file AKA a virtual disk) is non-trivial with
VMware workstation 5.  The person who told me this suggested I look at
the discussions/forums on the VMware web site.  I have not verified
this, except to find that it didn't work out of the box.  I have no
problem with installing Windows on a parition and a virtual disk on
the same computer with a single license.
