It runs on my TP A31, running sid, a homebaked vanilla 2.6.15, with
sl-modem-daemon 2.9.9d+e-pre2-3 and  sl-modem-source
2.9.9d+e-pre2-3. The operative parts of /etc/default/sl-modem-daemon
are:

DONTSTART=3D0
SLMODEMD_DEVICE=3Dauto
SLMODEMD_COUNTRY=3DUSA
FORCESTART=3D1
