I doubt my patch would affect any lock up problems, it only really
affects crtcs and output mappings.  lockups are usually related to a
wedged engine.  You best bet would be to try benh's latest memory map
patches (see xorg ML archives) or the latest radeon driver in cvs (a
potential hang situation in the drawing engine was fixed last night).
