Since you don't have /proc/suspend2, do you have either /proc/swsusp or
/proc/software_suspend (this one was used with 2.1.9.x on kernel 2.6.12
IIRC)? Does your kernel tell you at boot time that Suspend2 is
activated? (check dmesg)
