Hello,

I don't know Slackware, but when you have X.org 6.9 and a 2.6.14 kernel 
with savage DRM driver module, it should be pretty straight forward: Just 
copy the necessary DRI driver from a snapshot to the right location in 
Slackware. In Debian that is /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri

Otherwise you would have to compile the missing parts yourself or look for 
binary packages for your distribution.
