[ltp] 600E modem and Debian mwavem package

Hello List,

I have a 600E with Debian Sarge (3.1) installed, and am trying to get the modem working.  From this list I was pointed to the wavem package which seems to be just what I need, but when I tried to install it, I got the following errors:

before the install attempt I diabled the IRport with "setpnp 13 irq off"

The available docs are sparse and not very helpful.  If someone who has installed the debian package of mwavem and got it working with a 600E (and remembers how they did it) can supply the appropriate config options/command, it would be helpful.
