Just as a follow up: I now have a Seagate Momentus 5400.3 80GB (with only
one disc inside!) and I am very happy with it. It is nearly inaudible.
There is only some kind of quiet "white noise" but no high frequency
spinning noise. Also no vibrations (those ones that nearly drove me crazy
with the Toshiba ;-).

And it's also quite fast:

/dev/hda:
 Timing cached reads:   1360 MB in  2.00 seconds = 680.43 MB/sec

> hdparm -t /dev/hda

/dev/hda:
 Timing buffered disk reads:  132 MB in  3.05 seconds =  43.34 MB/sec
