First many thanks to all thu guys who answered me. I enclose a report
about the results.

I ran memtest, it stopped after about 3 hours. Yesterday my salesman
changed one Lenovo SoDIMM to one Kingston SoDIMM and now the machine
works perfectly.

It may be a problem of the DVI-interface, I will investigate that
further.

As I said, I'm using Fedora Core 5. Since
kernel-smp-2.6.17-1.2145_FC5.i686.rpm udev works and the soundcard is
recognised but there is still no sound at all. I will file that as a bug
to bugzilla.
