Same here, on a 600e that has very similar hardware to your 390e. My USB 
works fine.

I did. -16 is device busy. I don't know if that means something else has 
already grabbed the hardware or if there is some other cause. Googleing 
didn't turn up anything much so I would guess the problem is particular 
to you at the moment. So yes, it is time to dive into the kernel and 
turn on some debugging. Good luck.
