Hi,
For quite some time now I've been using a dual-head setup (MergedFB) on
my T42 laptop, which has a Radeon Mobility 7500 video card. After
upgrading to Ubuntu Dapper Drake (about a week before the final release)
I started having problems: using xrandr to switch from a dual-head
config to 1024x768 clone mode often causes the system to freeze hard.
Nothing works then -- no Ctrl+Alt+Backspace, no magic SysRq, no ACPI
events. The external monitor displays a strange pattern:

Has anyone else experienced problems like this?

P.S. I've created a bug report here: https://launchpad.net/bugs/47775
