Which SIR driver?  nsc-ircc or just plain regular 8250?  Anyway, if you can
reproduce it using the latest 2.6.17rc, it is time to report a bug on the
kernel bugzilla.

FWIW, nsc-ircc PM doesn't seem to be quite there yet in 2.6.17rc, you'd
probably be better off unloading it before sleep or hibernation.
