Try reseting the thing completely:
1. Remove *all* power: batteries, CMOS batteries if any (probably the *60
don't have one, but...), AC adapter.
2. Press the switch-on button at least 10 times, for at least 2s each.
3. Do a final long press (10s or so).
4. Plugin in batteries, ac-adapter, and see if it boots. You *will*
need to enter the BIOS and reconfigure the laptop.
That procedure (or variations of it) has unbricked a lot of ThinkPads of
various models.
