Hi,
getting back to an old thread here
(http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.hardware.thinkpad/19856). In the
meantime I have managed to pick up an 256MB module with 32Mx64 layout
from Infineon (label is at http://pfaffe3.dyndns.org/infineon.jpg) which
I thought would fit my X20, especially since there is even an IBM label
on the other side with FRU number 19K4655.
Alas, the computer only recognizes 128MB. I also tried in my noname
Clevo PIII notebook and it also only recognized 128MB. Is the module
faulty? I guess not, but what exactly will I have to look out for when
buying RAM for this machine? Alex Deucher said "look for 32x64 PC100
SO-DIMMs. that should be enough." OK, this module is PC133, but I
guess this should not really be a problem.
I seriously need to upgrade this machine. 192 MB is a pain even with
just icewm.
Regards
Rolf
