I have T43 (no p)... I first installed a Hitachi figuring it was safe
since they used to be IBM. Got an error message on boot up, hitting
escape would then boot OK, into SuSE 10.0. Read on Lenovo site that it
is a drive firmware problem but could not find an update. Since the
factory drive was a Fujitsu, I ordered and installed an 80G Fujitsu
drive. Works fine (again, I am running SuSE). Am pleased with the
combination, although I have one quirk running VMWare (that I work
around). Moved the Hitachi to an external USB enclosure (pretty neat,
fits in your pocket and works off USB power, although you can connect a
5v power supply).
