I knew about the monitor's abilities, but didn't know that LCDs all work at 60Hz. In fact, I thought they didn't care. Thanks for the information.

you are mixing up TV standards (PAL/NTSC/SECAM) and monitor refresh
rates. LCDs usually run at 60 Hz regardless of country and CRTs can
run at any range of values depending on what the montior can support.
