Some more information: having noticed at Xorg was running at tty7, and
reading some in ThinkWiki about this problem, I tried doing a "chvt 7"
at a console prompt, arrived at by doing Ctrl-Alt-F1 and logging in.
That brought back my desktop just fine. I can also do Ctrl-Alt-F7 for
the same results. But the moon suspend light still flashes, and I can't
put the computer back into suspend again, so it's not quite "there" yet.
I have Debian running on a desktop machine, and like it fine, but unless
I have some indication that suspend will work with Debian, I don't want
to install it just yet.
