and what is the FSB speed.

Woohoo, so 14M/s is possible in udma2!
Did you try with hdparm -u1 -d1 -A -a64 -c3 -m16?
What's your network card performance?
Also, I assume that your FSB is also 33Mhz, could you post the device's
model number?

Oh, and maybe some of you have any other tips regarding performance, power
management and such? My battery, for instance, has had the cells replaced
just before the laptop was put into a closet. Now the machine won't charge
it, the orange light will just blink and apm will show 0% charge.
