That is about the same figures that I am getting with my Z60 and Suse
10.

thinkpad:~ # hdparm -Tt /dev/sda

/dev/sda:
 Timing cached reads:   3320 MB in  2.00 seconds = 1659.90 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads:  104 MB in  3.04 seconds =  34.16 MB/sec
