[ltp] FC6 (almost) breaks some older packages

A31 TP, FC6:

No longer working are some older packages/apps using "app-defaults"
resources files in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/app-defaults/ directory and with
a symbolic link to there in /usr/lib/X11. They either bomb out with
"can't find resources" message or don't quite act properly. These old
programs have worked for years, all the way from early Slack to FC5. Now,
the new and improved FC6 breaks them.

A crude fix of sorts is to simply copy the app-defaults files to the ~/
home directory. Any ideas for a more elegant fixup?
