Hi,

thank you all for your assistance. Unfortunatley my problem is still not solved. I tried the various modifcations in the xorg.conf file, I tried the xorg.conf file from marius with the exact same symptoms. There is a signal however the monitor - as the beamer - stays black. I use a recent kernel (latest from debian unstable 2.6.18.x) which has this framebuffer stuff activated, linux console during boot has resulution of 800x600 or even bigger. Could this be related to my problem ? Anyone running such a system without my problem ?

I will try a boot CD in the next days.

Cheers,

Marcel
