Yes, I did. But I do not remember when it worked for the last time. I
think it was with 2.6.18. I have tested it with 2.6.18 and 2.6.19-rc2
right now. The problem occurs with both versions.

No effect.

Output of 'hdparm /dev/sda':

/dev/sda:
 IO_support   =  0 (default 16-bit)
 readonly     =  0 (off)
 readahead    = 256 (on)
