Thats nothing gnome will do. Gnome2 was "designed for simplicity" so
dont ask it for complex operations. Consequently, with the invention of
gnome2, they dropped their window manager sawfish, which is very capable
and easily programmable, in favour of the "simple" metacity, which in
fact is so fscking simple that you cannot even configure key+mouse (e.g.
Super+doubleclick=3Dresize) event combos, so dont even ask for
programmability!
Fortunately, the Gnome2 we-dont-do-shit-so-the-user-wont-be-confused-
o-mania seems to have turned a little because so many users actually
demanded to be confused by having more than one configuration option.
Bottom line: if you want to have your windows shoved around, get a
capable window manager to do the task but expect various other problems
to pop up because it aint 100% compatible with metacity, which most
gnome apps expect to be there.
kind regards,
Fionn
