[ltp] Something takes over my ACPI suspend event...

Hi,
I have the following problem with my T40:
I have written a script that is hooked to the Fn-F4 event,
which, among other things, changes the virtual console i.e.
exits X. Otherwise the screen is garbled on resume (or maybe
someone knows how to fix this issue in the first place?).
The script gets called (I can see an OSD message I have
configured, and there is my beep and the LED blinking),
but it never gets to the point of the chvt command, the
system goes to sleep much sooner (as I can't see the chvt
entries in the log file).
What can be causing this behavior?
Any help would be appreciated ;)
