No, but and older release of the fixed hdaps shipped by tp-smapi is in the
-mm tree, and it also requires the patch.

To locate the EC Firmware string in the DMI tables, it is the best and
safest way to detect a new-style EC firmware, which supports a lot of stuff,
like more thermal readings.
