[ltp] DVD-Drive SR-8175 can’t read +R

We have a ThinkPad-DVD-drive SR-8175, which can’t read +R-discs.

We also have a DVD-drive SR-8176, which can read +R-discs since I updated the 
firmware.

The SR-8175 already has the newest firmware version G240. The thing is, that I 
got a +R from <http://linuxdvds.de>, which /can/ be read by the drive, 
because it was burned with a DVD-flag. That lets me assume, that only minor 
changes to the firmware are necessary to enable the drive to read normal 
+R-discs.

Does anyone know why there isn’t yet such a firmware for the SR-8175?
