[ltp] X60s: Sound gone after FC5 yum update

I just did a monster yum update on the machine, with almost 1.2 GB of 
packages getting updated/replaced.

Before I started, I was listening to music no problems at all.

After the update, no more sound, kde sound server comes up saying it 
cannot initialise the sound driver.

FC5 on a X60s. Current kernel version 2.6.17-1.2187_FC5smp. Going back to 
previous kernel 2.6.17-1.2174_FC5smp doesnt help either.

Help!
