Hello, I have a T42p giving me great satisfactions for two years now.
This morning I was in an office trying to connect to wireless qand
noticed it didn't work.
I never use wireless, so i don't know how long this is going on.
I had some BSOD (ar5211.sys) on Win XP at the end of last year but I
thought it was due to the poor Redmond thing (I don't dare calling it OS).

Here is the relevant section of lspci -vv

02:02.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5212
802.11abg NIC (rev 01)
        Subsystem: Unknown device 17ab:8331
        Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV+ VGASnoop-
ParErr- Stepping- SERR+ FastB2B-
        Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort-
<TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR-
Latency: 168 (2500ns min, 7000ns max), Cache Line Size: 32 bytes
Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 11
        Region 0: Memory at c0210000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K]
Capabilities: [44] Power Management version 2
        Flags: PMEClk- DSI- D1- D2- AuxCurrent=0mA
PME(D0-,D1-,D2-,D3hot-,D3cold-)
        Status: D0 PME-Enable- DSel=0 DScale=2 PME-

And of dmesg:

wifi0: 11a rates: 6Mbps 9Mbps 12Mbps 18Mbps 24Mbps 36Mbps 48Mbps 54Mbps
wifi0: 11b rates: 1Mbps 2Mbps 5.5Mbps 11Mbps

wifi0: Use hw queue 2 for WME_AC_VI traffic

wifi0: Use hw queue 8 for CAB traffic
wifi0: Use hw queue 9 for beacons
wifi0: Atheros 5212: mem=0xc0210000, irq=11

So it seems to me that everything is going fine. But network monitor
doesn't show any wireless networks.

How can I debug this thing? Using a pcmcia or usb wificard everything
works flawlessly,

Thanks, Marco Ghirlanda
