I am currently running Xubuntu Edgy.  Hotswap is in the Xubuntu
universe repository.  Alberto Gonzalez Iniesta agi-at-initab.org the
maintainer.  You can probably find it several (many?) places although
I haven't looked.  Apparently it is not ThinkPad specific and works
with other laptops as well.  You should be able to find it for your
distro fairly easily.  Hope you get it working.  John
