Subject: [ltp] radeon pal tv-out with x700
To: linux-thinkpad@linux-thinkpad.org
Hi!
Has anyone succeeded getting radeon tv-out working with ATI Mobility
Radeon X700 in PAL mode? I'm getting NTSC out ok (that does not look so
nice with with PAL TV) but when trying PAL I get just gray fuzz.
I'm using the instructions in the link below. Currently I'm forced to
use the driver in Fedora RPM xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.7.192-1.fc8 as with
latest git version I get just an error:
(==) Using config file: "/etc/X11/xorg.conf"

If you only have tv-out attached, you won't detect any attached
outputs if the tvdac is shared with latest git. the problem is the
dvi port and the tv-out share the same dac so I disabled load
detection by default because tv-out detection will detect monitors and
vice versa. I'm not sure if there is a good way around that. you can
force the output on my adding a monitor section and linking it to the
S-video port. PAL is currently busted and I'm not sure why as of yet.
