I switch between 3GHz and 266MHz. There's certainly a difference, but even 
the old system is quite usable for the usual web browsing and editing. 
What I find, though, is that using USB WLAN will seriously strain the 
processor. Rendering of web pages (and anything else) is visibly slower 
than when on conventional LAN.

This box runs on Windows ME btw because it is mainly used for navigation.
