If Crucial says that part will work, it will work. You have nothing to lose
with them as they guarantee their parts to work in the specified machine.

Note that they also recommend a PC133 part for the 600X, a machine that's
notorious for rejecting out-of-spec RAM, and usually refuses to use PC133
memory.

BTW, that part is pretty dear at $76. Kahlon sells a PC100 256MB part for
$62. I've had good luck with them.

I've also had good luck with a local laptop repair shop, buying two used
PC100 256MB parts for $45 each a couple of years ago. If you have that
option, you might take your laptop there so you can ensure each part works
correctly.
