It's possible to disable the Interrupt Throttle Rate option
when loading the e1000 driver with module option:
InterruptThrottleRate=0,0 
Haven't checked this yet, but I was getting weird interrupt errors and sketchy performance and noticed someone on fedora is loading it that way.
