The last thing that made it work was to reduce the upper limit in  
"CRT2HSync" "31-74" to 74. This also creates a problem for me now, since I 
have two setups - one with the 2407 monitor and the other one with the 2001 
monitor (1600x1200). I can't find one setup that would work for both. The 
moment I raise HSync value to 75 (needed for the 2001's 1600x1200 mode) the 
1920x1200 mode stops working.
So I keep switching between two xorg.conf files for now.
