Oh, I am sorry -- I misread the question. No, I have not restored from the=

R&R partition. There is an option for that though. Something worth trying,=
=20
perhaps, once I have a spare moment. It should be *a lot* faster than=20
restoring from DVDs.

Of course I fsck all the file systems. But windows seems to be installing=
=20
itself pretty eh... "linearily" so to say, starting from the start of the=
=20
partition. Mind you, I cannot find any guarantee for that it actually *is*=
=20
that way, but thus far it has worked for me quite satisfactorily.

If the laptop is under warranty -- sure thing (and free of charge).=20
