If you are undocking without first telling the dock to go offline (I don't
mean pressing any buttons, although that *might* do it. I mean calling the
ACPI eject handlers for the dock somehow), then you could well be damaging
your hardware, and it wouldn't be any sort of surprise if it doesn't work
exactly right, even if it is not damaged.

That said, if Windows users have intermitent problems, while still doing the
proper undock procedure, then it is either a hardware bug, or a firmware
bug.
