Hello,
I've tested it on my old IBM Thinkpad X31, with a 2.6.22rc7 kernel,
and it works for sound and brightness in console and in X (with tpb).
I activated use of input events instead of ACPI ones, and I can see
them using input-events for Fn-F* keys only, not for sound, brightness,
thinklight, zoom nor "Access IBM" keys...
For these Fn-F* keys, the reported events are not always correct :
F3:
13:44:24.835219: EV_KEY (null) pressed
13:44:24.835225: EV_SYN code=0 value=0
13:44:24.835228: EV_KEY (null) released
13:44:24.835230: EV_SYN code=0 value=0
F4:
13:44:25.512550: EV_KEY KEY_SLEEP pressed
13:44:25.512556: EV_SYN code=0 value=0
13:44:25.512559: EV_KEY KEY_SLEEP released
13:44:25.512561: EV_SYN code=0 value=0
F5:
13:44:50.444926: EV_KEY (null) pressed
13:44:50.444932: EV_SYN code=0 value=0
13:44:50.444935: EV_KEY (null) released
13:44:50.444937: EV_SYN code=0 value=0
F7:
13:45:00.086242: EV_KEY (null) pressed
13:45:00.086248: EV_SYN code=0 value=0
13:45:00.086251: EV_KEY (null) released
13:45:00.086253: EV_SYN code=0 value=0
F12:
13:45:01.414320: EV_KEY KEY_SUSPEND pressed
13:45:01.414326: EV_SYN code=0 value=0
13:45:01.414329: EV_KEY KEY_SUSPEND released
13:45:01.414331: EV_SYN code=0 value=0
And nothing else happens anymore when using them, whereas they were
working in previous versions...
I wonder how can I correctly re-program the (null) codes given by some
keys, and how the desktop should react to these keys (I'm using a
Debian Etch with Gnome system)...
with regards,
Fred.
