Yeah, there's more than one type of usability, and theirs doesn't fit
my brain. Why oh why did I desert Gentoo? (Oh yes, because I was
seduced by "Ubuntu just works" .. well, often it does ..)

Thanks, your pointers led to a much more fruitful foray into the
Ubuntu repositories: search for "obex", not for "bluetooth", to reach
paydirt.
