Hello,
apparently, the issue seems to be solved by using gnome-power-manager. I
discarded gnome power manager, because powertop mentioned is as contra
productive.
The system has an X300 ATI graphics chip. Using radeontool in a script
switches on the panel backlight. Afaik graphics adaptors have to be
re-initialized after suspend. Maybe gnome power manager does this (sounds
weird!)
Thanks anyway,
Matthias
