One problem I have not yet solved is enabling the TPM chip - all
indications are that it is an atmel, however tpm_atmel.ko gives no love,
anyone else had success?

Other noteworthies - hardware volume does not seem to work, however it
generates key events (with proper masking in ibm_acpi anyhow) so it can
be mapped.  In-kernel hdaps doesn't appear to work, however tp_smapi
hdaps would appear to.

The fingerprint reader works as expected with thinkfinger.
