I tried to charge it for 12 hours but how do you initiate a slow/low
charge on one of these batteries? My understanding is that it can only
be charged in one way: plugging the battery into the laptop and the
laptop into the wall... unless you are very good at customizing ACPI or
use the thinkpad kernel modules, etc.

I got this one from www.compuvest.com... it is the same size as the
6-cell one but heavier. The manual says 02K6619/02K6617 is only
available for a22m 2629 not 2628 but the I will order one that is
02K6619/<some other number> from a site that says it will work with my
exact model 100%... if that doesn't work I'll give up on 9-cell and go to 6.
