It is not impossible :-)  But i'd have to make it -rc2 I suppose.  I will do
so when I release a new thinkpad-acpi release, soon.

You can keep an eye on the "queue/waiting" branch of the thinkpad-acpi git
tree in the meantime.  I update it periodically when there is unmerged stuff
(like now), and it is usually based on the latest -rc.
