What do you mean by "properly working ACPI video module"
Currently (running 2.6.24-rc1 from ibm-acpi waiting/queued git tree) it
doesn't work with hal (multiple /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video are
reported, wich confuse hal)

I'll try to write a script wich echo the correct value
to /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video1/brightness as it doesn't support the
up/down paradigm.
