I have the most up-to-date version of hibernate, and (apparently)
have since I installed Debian on this laptop.
I did see that hibernate has a log, which was a little
exciting, but unfortunately a suspend attempt doesn't send
anything this log either (I posted in response to the other
message that there's nothing in /var/log/acpid). Previous
(successful) suspends, before the kernel update or whatever
caused it to stop working, _did_ generate output to the
hibernate log.
