(5) No new complications running linux (i.e. wireless issues) with the T61p?? (I will run Fedora)
Surely you will be running a newer Fedora, maybe even 64-bit, with a newer wireless card.? If you have an old 802.11b access point, it may not be supported by drivers.?
I haven't dared to upgrade the BIOS, in an attempt to support tpctl, as everything else is good, and people keep posting complaints after installing a new BIOS.
The released browsers weren't working well for me (OpenSuSE 10.3 64-bit).? Selecting between FF3 and Opera beta versions, everything works fine, as long as I'm willing to cut and paste URLs.
(6) (maybe most important) Does the T61p run as *quiet* as the T41p?
My old laptop (probably a Lenovo, but with an IBM nameplate)?screeched to a halt with bad fan bearings.? No such?problem with the new one, but I don't extrapolate from 5 months to 5 years.
