[ltp] resume from suspend - screen blank (ATI Radeon HD 3650) on a W500

Hi,

Having problems getting suspend-resume to work on a W500. This is even
without X running. I am just on the virtual terminal and I can send the
machine into suspend. On resume, I hear the usual beeps but the screen
remains dark. I can type blindly and get the appropriate responses (like
shutdown -r, etc).

The specs:

Thinkpad W500
ATI Technologies Inc Mobilitiy Radeon HD 3650
Kernel: 2.6.27.5
Distribution: 64 bit Mandriva 2009.0

Any help/suggestions will be most appreciated.
