I’ve been unsuccessful with uvesafb. Anyway, I’ve managed to get
"1280x800-76" mode with vesa (vga=872).

It’s not the native display resolution, but at least the console is more
usable than at 80x25 characters :P

I’ll just wait some time until intelfb supports 1440x900.

And in the meantime if I need a console for more than 10 minutes or so,
I’ll just end starting xorg and using the graphical one.

Not a big deal for me, after all.
